I have always had a passion for baking and cake decorating for as long as I can remember. I spent 5 years working at the award winning tea rooms The Corn Dolly, where I got to bake a variety of cakes and bakes to a very high standard.
I spent four years at North Devon College, Barnstaple, where I achieved my hygiene certificate, NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 in hospitality and catering and level 1 in cake decoration. I then progressed onto working at a Michelin-starred restaurant The Masons Arms in Knowstone for 7 years. Working my way up to Sous Chef I got to create and prepare fine desserts and cakes to a Michelin starred standard.
I started making cakes for family and friends in my spare time, which meant that I got to experiment with different flavours and decorating techniques. Hearing that they enjoyed what I had created for them was always the best feeling ever! I started to receive cake requests from friends of friends, which lead to my very first wedding cake order! It was then that I realised that this is what I want to do full time and bespoke baking was born!
